Basal cell carcinoma is the most common form of skin cancer. When detected early, most basal cell carcinomas can be treated and cured and are not considered life-threatening.
Squamous Cell Carcinoma
A common skin cancer that begins when UV light from the sun damages the skin and causes a cancerous tumor. We test all suspicious spots and offer the latest treatments.
Skin Cancer Treatment
Skin cancer is the uncontrolled overgrowth of abnormal skin cells. When caught early, it can be very treatable.
Mohs Surgery
A surgery that cuts away thin layers of skin to address skin cancer. Mohs performed by our certified physicians has a high cure rate and minimizes damage to healthy tissue.
Dr. LaTour received his medical degree from Loma Linda University of Medicine and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He completed his dermatology residency and a one-year advanced Mohs Skin Cancer Surgery Fellowship at the Loma Linda University Medical Center in California. This fellowship provided him with in-depth expertise in the management of skin cancer. Mohs surgery is a specialized way to remove skin cancers, preserving as much skin tissue as possible while providing a high cure rate for skin cancer.
After his training, Dr. LaTour returned to his home state of Michigan to begin his practice. Since then, he has expanded his practice with Jackson, Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, Sturgis and Angola offices. Dr. LaTour is certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery.
