What is it?

A chemical peel is an efficient, flexible, non-invasive cosmetic procedure that uncovers your most radiant skin. We apply a chemical solution to the skin, which breaks down the upper/outer layers of the skin. This layer eventually peels off, revealing the youthful skin underneath with fewer lines and wrinkles and a more even and brighter complexion. 

Many of our patients choose chemical peels to improve the tone and texture of their skin. They are most often done on the face, neck, chest or hands to help reduce and improve fine lines, mild scarring, sun spots and — in some cases — certain types of acne.

What to expect

The skin is thoroughly cleansed, removing excess oils, and then the chemical solution is applied (a warm sensation on the applied area(s) is normal). Sometimes, if the sensation is too warm, we can help relieve it with a cool compress. The chemical is then washed off or neutralized. You can expect a sunburn-like reaction after the peel, and you’ll see redness followed by mild to moderate peeeling that generally lasts between three and seven days. Lotion may be applied as your skin heals.
