About Your Provider
Shannon Scanlon, FNP-BC, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner at Dermatology and Skin Surgery Center in Battle Creek, Michigan, where she provides comprehensive medical dermatology care for patients of all ages. She specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of acne, eczema (atopic dermatitis), psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis (dandruff), skin infections, and wart and mole removal, as well as skin cancer prevention, screenings, and lesion removal.
Shannon’s passion for patient care began early, working as a Wellness Coordinator in a nursing home at age 16. She went on to earn her Master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Chamberlain University College and began her clinical career in wound care, where she treated elderly patients in advanced-age homes. Seeing the skin heal—and the meaningful improvement it brought to patients’ comfort, confidence, and quality of life—sparked her interest in dermatology and led her to pursue specialized training in skin health.
Today, Shannon is known for her thoughtful, patient-centered approach to dermatology. She emphasizes education, collaboration, and individualized care, working closely with each patient to develop personalized treatment plans that align with their medical needs and skin health goals. Her clinical interests include skin cancer screenings, early detection and removal of suspicious lesions, and long-term management of chronic inflammatory skin conditions.
Outside of the office, Shannon enjoys staying active through fitness and outdoor activities, traveling, and cheering on her children at their sporting events. She values lifelong learning, music, and meaningful time with family and friends—interests that reflect the same balance, compassion, and dedication she brings to her patients every day.
