What is it?

A double chin—medically referred to as submental fat—is a prevalent issue that arises when a layer of fat accumulates beneath the chin. It's often linked with weight gain, but a person doesn’t necessarily need to be overweight to develop a double chin. 

It’s often associated with weight gain or skin losing its elasticity due to aging, but it can also be genetic. This condition affects people of all ages, including men and women, for various reasons, such as being overweight, genetics, age and posture.
